Cat. #0004512: ETHEL BARRYMORE

Vintage 8x10-inch black and white portrait for the Broadway play "The Corn in Green" (1940), boldly signed and inscribed in blue fountain pen at the time of the production. In good condition, with a few minor handling dings. The writing is much clearer than it appears in the snapshot of the item used to illustrate it here. Formidable, fascinating stage and screen star Ethel Barrymore, a member of the Barrymore acting dynasty, was unforgettable in classic films like Rasputin and the Empress (1932), None But the Lonely Heart (1944), The Spiral Staircase (1946), The Farmer's Daughter (1947), The Paradise Case (1947), Portrait of Jennie (1948), The Great Sinner (1948), Pinky (1949), The Story of Three Loves (1953), Young at Heart (1954), and Johnny Trouble (1957).
