Cat. #001610131: JOI LANSING

Highly scarce vintage blue ballpoint pen signature on a 4x6-inch tan album page, acquired in-person near the onset of her career, when she spelled her first name Joy. In good condition. Note that the image of the star, shown here alongside the scan of the autograph, is not included. Breathtaking model and actress Joi (a.k.a. Joy) Lansing had small roles in musicals like Easter Parade (1948), In the Good Old Summertime (1949) and Singin' in the Rain (1952) before finding regular work on television, popping up on episodes of "The Bob Cummings Show" (1955-1959), "Perry Mason" (1957), "Make Room for Daddy" (1957), "Sugarfoot" (1958), "Mike Hammer" (1958), "Adventures of Superman" (1958), "The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour" (1959), "Bat Masterson" (1959), "The Beverly Hillbillies" (1963-1969), and "Petticoat Junction" (1968). After 1952, he big screen work was almost entirely confined to B-pictures, including Son of Sinbad (1955), Terror at Midnight (1956), Hot Cars (1956), Queen of Outer Space (1958), The Atomic Submarine (1959), and Hillbillys in a Haunted House (1967), with better roles in The Brave One (1956), Touch of Evil (1958) and A Hole in a Head (1959). She died tragically of breast cancer at the age of 43 and her autograph is extremely elusive in any format.
